The Bamagreen project, part of Plastic2Prosperity (P2P), tackles plastic pollution in peri-urban Bamako, Mali, while supporting vulnerable communities through job creation and skills development. By combining waste collection, recycling, youth training, reforestation and environmental awareness, the project delivers measurable environmental and social impact.

Project scope and duration
- Location: Bamako, Mali
- Duration: 2 years
- Goal: Reduce plastic pollution and restore local ecosystems while generating income for vulnerable populations.
Bamagreen helps ECOBUILD grow by
- Improving infrastructure and equipment.
- Training on machine processing (shredder, extruder, injection, compression).
- Mentorship on business planning, product promotion, and networking with other recycling actors.
- Supporting formalisation, allowing ECOBUILD to operate under Malian legislation.

Reforestation
- Creation of a tree nursery producing at least 2,000 seedlings.
- Training in seedling production and agroforestry techniques.
- Providing nursery entrepreneurs with material kits.
- Guaranteeing purchase of seedlings for public space plantations.
Green awareness
- 12 community sessions and radio broadcasts on hygiene, sanitation, and environmental practices.
- Training for local decision-makers, including authorities and technical services.
